From the beginning, the story attracted us to this project, because it is a unique and interesting DUPLEX Type unit with 4.8m ceilings in the tallest residential building located along Sukhumvit Road, at 197m. As a unit, the finishing itself was in a dark tone mood, and the client requested for us to follow the same concept and to add something special – to use Japanese Plum Wooden Laminate finishing for most of the built-in furniture. Our team implemented this work in mixture with Black Tempered Glass as decoration of some walls, and elements of built-in furniture.
The unit’s spaces have clearly been separated following the functionality and lifestyle of the client. The Lower Level includes a lobby area, toilet, dining, and living area. Mostly, the area would be used right after arriving home after a long working day. The upper level/mezzanine floor is used purely for the bedroom, with a small hint multi-purpose area where we placed a working desk, which could also be used as a make-up table.
By the end, the client was happy with the functionality, area, and flow within the space. This unit’s mood & tone was one of the more unique that we’ve come across and the client’s most favorite point of their new home for years to come will consistently provide warm memories of Japan.
